When you use certain features of the System, in particular, our mobile applications we may receive, store and process different types of information about your location, including general information (e.g., IP address, zip code) and more specific information (e.g., GPS-based functionality on mobile devices used to access the System or specific features of the System). If you access the System through a mobile device and you do not want your device to provide us with location-tracking information, you can disable the GPS or other location-tracking functions on your device, provided your device allows you to do this. See your device manufacturer’s instructions for further details.
We may also receive, store and process Log Data, which is information that is automatically recorded by our servers whenever you access or use the System, regardless of whether you are registered or logged in to your ClickDate account, such as your IP Address, the date and time you access or use the System, the hardware and software you are using, referring and exit pages and URLs, the number of clicks, pages viewed and the order of those pages, and the amount of time spent on particular pages.
When you register or subscribe to our services, we collect a variety of information about you, for example, you provide us with answers to our questionnaire, and we use your answers to create your personality profile and to match you with other potential compatible partners. Certain items of information are mandatory in order to gain access to Services and are directly relevant to the core functionality of our services. Your personal responses to the questions about your partner preferences in our questionnaire is kept strictly confidential, while other about yourself (such as your name, ethnicity, religion, occupation, height, etc.) will be used to build your own profile. We may also display your marital status and most recent log-in date and other profile/account information to your potential partners/users of ClickDate services. While registration you also may choose to provide us with your photo(s) and by providing us such content, you agree that we make them available to your potential partners/users of ClickDate services.
To process purchases, we may require your name, address, phone number, email address, and credit card information. Such information is used primarily to process your order or as otherwise described herein. Credit card transactions are processed through industry-standard Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and/or strong encryption (3DES) by a third party, which only uses your information for that purpose. We do not store any credit card information in our system
We require an e-mail address from you when you register for our System. We use your e-mail for both transactional (e.g., order confirmation, refund and renewal processing, notifying of matches for our Singles service) and promotional (e.g., newsletters, new product offerings, special discounts, event notifications, special third-party offers) purposes. E-mail messages we send you may contain code that enables our database to track your usage of the e-mails, including whether the e-mail was opened and what links (if any) were clicked. We reserve the right to send you certain communications relating to the ClickDate services, such as service announcements and administrative messages, without offering you the opportunity to opt-out of receiving them.
While you may disable the usage of cookies through your browser settings, we do not change our practices in response to a “Do Not Track” signal in the HTTP header from your browser or mobile application
We do not target our sites or services to children under the age of 18, and in compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, any information we may receive from users we believe to be under the age of 16 will be purged from our database.
You may review, update, correct or delete the Personal Information in your ClickDate account by logging in to your account. If you would like to cancel your ClickDate account entirely, you can do so by logging in to your account. Because many users tend to use our service at different points of their relationship-seeking life, we retain your personal information for continued service and convenience purposes until you advise us not to do so. Notwithstanding the foregoing, we may retain personal information in order to comply with applicable laws, keep accurate records, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, enforce our Terms and Conditions of Service or other agreements, or for any other legally permissible purpose.
We have implemented reasonable administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your Personal Information against the unauthorized access, destruction, or alteration of your information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet, and no method of storing electronic information, can be 100% secure. So, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your transmissions to us and of the Personal Information that we store.
The System may provide a referral service that allows you to invite your friends and contacts to use the System. The System also may allow you to ask your friends and contacts to write a reference for you. We may integrate the System with third party sites such as Facebook, so that you can send invitation messages or requests for references via the third-party site itself. These messages will be sent by the third-party site, and ClickDate does not collect or retain the contact information that is used to send them. You may also send invitation/request emails via the System itself, in which case we will ask you for the email addresses to send these emails to
We may change how we collect and then use Personal Information at any time and without prior notice, at our sole discretion.
We may also allow our business partners to place cookies on your device. For example, we use Google Analytics for web analytics, and so Google may also set cookies on your device. As further explained below, third parties may also place cookies on your device for advertising purposes.
There are two types of cookies used on the System, namely “persistent cookies” and “session cookies”.
Session cookies will normally expire when you close your browser, while persistent cookies will remain on your device after you close your browser, and can be used again the next time you access the System.
The System may also use other technologies with similar functionality to cookies, such as web beacons and tracking URLs to obtain Log Data about users. We may also use web beacons and tracking URLs in our messages to you to determine whether you have opened a certain message or accessed a certain link.
In addition, Facebook places a cookie via the System that allows Facebook to obtain aggregated, non-Personal Information to optimize their services. For example, if a user clicks on an advertisement for the ClickDate mobile app on Facebook and subsequently installs the app, this cookie will inform Facebook that a user (who is not personally identified) has installed the app after clicking on the advertisement. This cookie may also inform Facebook that a user is using the app, without identifying the specific actions taken by the user in the app.
Most browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can modify your browser setting to decline cookies by visiting the Help portion of your browser’s toolbar. If you choose to decline cookies, please note that you may not be able to sign in, customize, or use some of the interactive features of the System. Flash cookies operate differently than browser cookies, and cookie management tools available in a web browser will not remove flash cookies.
